About Us

The Autism Society of Baltimore-Chesapeake is a volunteer organization founded in 1976. We were created to help serve the Autism community in Baltimore. Our organization provides information, advocacy and support for families and individuals.

The Baltimore-Chesapeake affiliate is part of a national network. The Autism Society’s mission is to create connections, empowering everyone in the Autism community with the resources needed to live fully. As the nation’s oldest leading grassroots Autism organization, the Autism Society and its 75 local affiliates serve over half a million members of the Autism community each year. It envisions a world where everyone in the Autism community is connected to the support they need, when they need it – including education, advocacy efforts, and supports and services throughout their lifespan. Introducing the Avery Berman Scholarship Fund

THE APPLICATION IS NOW CLOSED. Thanks to our generous donors, ASBC is able to support a scholarship in honor of Avery Berman's memory. The Avery Berman scholarship fund is designed to provide up to $200 in financial assistance to families who may have a need for goods and/or services to improve the daily functioning lives of their loved one with Autism. There is no age limit for applicants. Applicants will be reviewed by the ASBC Board, and 2 recipients will be notified of being selected each year. Funds can be used for goods and services to improve daily functioning in school/home/community and will only be disbursed to the company or entity that will provide the goods or services.
